theresa & chris - february 24, 2007

every couple has a story to tell about their wedding day, and theresa and chris definitely will have one of the best. their wedding date fell on what some local forecasters called the storm of the century, with ice and sleet and almost a foot of snow in some areas. the most remarkable part about the day, however, was not the weather, but how these two and their families never once thought about letting that keep them from enjoying their day to the fullest. i never once heard them complain, and they kept smiling and laughing and had fun with the situation.

here are a couple of my favorites of chris and theresa. here they are braving the elements:

some ice on the trees outside of the church:

chris getting to the church on time:

theresa's beautiful dress:

getting some help getting into her dress:

theresa was excited to see chris's reaction as he saw her for the first time, and he didn't disappoint:

their ringbearer may have beat the down-the-aisle speed record:

theresa was lucky enough to be able to be escorted down the aisle by both of her dads:

exchanging rings, surrounded by their friends and loved ones:

another fun picture outside:

making each other laugh:

when they got to the reception, they found that the power was out at the hotel. they just laughed and said that would make for a great story later. how amazing is that? taking advantage of the situation, we took this picture in the blackout, and they were lit with only a flashlight:

instead of letting the lack of power let them get them down, theresa and chris greeted their guests and invited them to join them in a nice, romantic candlelit dinner:

their friends and family raising their glasses:

i love this picture of their cake, lit by flashlight:

and just as they cut the cake, the lights came back on, so they could party the night away:

there is a quote attributed to hugh downs that says, "A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.” theresa and chris's attitudes that day just showed what amazing people they are and that they have the basis for all the happiness in the world as they begin their lives together. congratulations and enjoy your upcoming honeymoon!

misty & justin - february 17, 2007

misty and justin were married on a gorgeous winter day in hamel, minnesota, which is a quiet little town just a few miles from the hustle and bustle of minneapolis. i have loved getting to know these two and i loved their wedding day. the day was so easygoing and relaxed and tons of fun. they are both blessed with wonderful families and a fun and crazy group of friends. i was lucky enough to get to know some of them at other weddings i had shot, so it was a blast to see them again.

here are a couple of my favorite pictures of misty and justin:

between the windy day,her awesome veil, and her knack for being in front of the camera, i was able to get some great pictures of misty. i absolutely love this one:

another gorgeous bride picture:

justin's sister adjusting their dad's tie before the ceremony:

sharing a laugh:

the flower girl and the ringbearers trying to get a better look at the bride coming d0wn the aisle:

the videographer's view of the ceremony:

i now pronounce you husband and wife:

down the aisle:

on the church steps after the ceremony:

a quick and casual picture of the wedding party at the old bank in downtown hamel. aren't the bridesmaids' fur jackets so cute?

i couldn't take my eyes off the ringbearer at the reception. he was so funny and animated. here's just a few of his expressions:

the best man, ken, was a groom from another winter wedding of mine a few years ago. he definitely gave a speech for the ages, as everyone there can attest to:

justin laughing during the toasts:

their first dance:

thank you, misty and justin, for letting me capture some wonderful moments from your big day. i hope you have a blast in mexico!

shari & jeff - february 3, 2007

it may have been one of the coldest days on record in minnesota, but it would have been hard to tell on shari & jeff's wedding day. the happiness and warmth between them made it easy for everyone to forget the frigid weather outside. besides the chill in the air, there was a chilled-out atmosphere throughout the day. they made a great point to make the day relaxing for all their family and friends. their theme was a winter wonderland and they did a beautiful job planning and creating a memorable celebration.

here are a few of my favorite photos of shari & jeff:

sharing a laugh, which is something they do together quite often:

a portrait of shari, looking gorgeous:

oh, and jeff didn't look too bad himself:

this may be one of my favorite ring shots ever. jeff stopped and got lunch at taco bell, and grabbed some hot sauce, and these are what they said. how perfect is that?

their daughter jade wasn't too sure what to make of her hair in the middle of getting it styled:

shari's incredible dress:

the couple seeing each other for the first time:

father and daughter sharing a moment before the ceremony:

and another father and daughter sharing a moment as they make their way down the aisle:

the vows:

the ringbearer pulling one of the flower girls down the aisle in a sled:

the reception was at the owatonna country club and it was decorated like a winter wonderland. shari's aunt made this amazing cake, covered in snowflakes:

shari's matron of honor, and jeff's dad, who he had as his best man, made great speeches that were touching and funny:

their first dance as husband and wife:

stealing a kiss under the full moon:

congratulations, shari & jeff, and best wishes to you and your new family! have a wonderful time thawing out and relaxing in las vegas!
