deirdre & scott - august 4, 2007
i was so lucky to be able to shoot unique weddings in st. paul this weekend. deirdre & scott were married in a saturday morning ceremony at the chapel of st. thomas aquinas on the campus of the university of st. thomas. the morning skies were cloudy but that didn't dampen the spirits of this couple. they shared a very touching ceremony with family and friends. they not only began a new life as husband and wife, but as a new family with daugher alana.
i love this picture of deirdre inside the chapel:
some favorites of the couple:
and of alana:
the dress:
...and the rings. embracing their heritages, deirdre & scott incorporated the celtic design into their rings and also into other details of their day:
father and daughter watching the guests arrive from the balcony:
deirdre's dad escorting her down the aisle:
the unity candle:
i think alana was teasing scott a bit about getting a little emotional during the vows:
after the ceremony, we took a little field trip to the grotto on the campus for some family pictures. it was a little overcast and misty, but that didn't stop anyone:
this is a picture from the post-wedding shoot taken by jan tharp, who is a friend and fellow photographer. she is also the one who referred deirdre and scott to me, which i thank her for. i get a kick out of it because i am rarely on the other side of the camera (even if it is my backside)
even alana got into the action:
the new family:
congratulations to deirdre, scott and alana! i hope you had a wonderful time in mexico together and i am excited for you to see the rest of the pictures.
